HP Black Friday Movies - It’s hard to part ways with recommended products

When the Smartson and HP Black Friday movies launch, the focus is on recommended products and personal time. The productions will be broadcasted initially on Youtube as the main channel.

– The goal of our venture is to place one of our most recommended products in a completely new context, and through advertising in channels that we have not previously worked actively with to drive increased traffic to this year’s Black Friday campaign.

Product heroes and clear characters

The hero in the films, HP Spectre x360, received good reviews from Smartson’s test pilots earlier this year. You will meet the determined bride who postpones her own wedding and Gunnar, who slips away from his own birthday party. All to have more time with their newfound love.

– Through the production of these films together with Smartson, we have had the opportunity to use our previous User Generated Content and create new material for one of our most important sales periods. Demonstrating and marketing products with video material has proven more effective now than ever, which was a clear indicator on why we chose to do this project, says Ebba Rimbäck.

A clear twist and a clear message

The production is developed by Smartson’s team of Creative Production in close dialogue with HP. Smartson’s Digital Designer Jonny Jonasson shares his thoughts on the films.

– Our latest collaboration is based on the aspect that you avoid family and friends so you can hang out with recommended products instead. It’s not about alluding to consumerism but instead the importance of choosing recommended products that keep their promise of durability and fulfill a clear need in everyday life or at work.
