Curious on how to engage co-creators via Smartson and TikTok?

TikTok for business launches in the Nordics with a fully charged team to meet the needs of brands and creators on the platform. At the launch event, we met key people from the new Nordic organization and made some key learnings from the world. Smartson’s Paid Media Manager Fanny Seaton attended the event together with her curious team mates.

“This is how TikTok for Business will be launched in the Nordic region - step by step”

– In the spring of 2021, we will see our first original TikTok collaborations at Smartson. Our partners will be able to engage our nano influencers (test pilots) based on different assignments. We believe in creatively free missions for the platform but also focused on taste tests, challenges or educational content.

How is TikTok growing in Sweden?

“During the pandemic, the use of TikTok has increased in all age groups. Between the ages of 16 and 25, usage has increased by as much as 8 percent, from 39 percent in Q1 to 47 percent in Q3. However, the greatest increase has taken place within the age bracket of 26–35 years - where usage has risen by 9 percent to 15 percent in Q3. On the other hand among Internet users over the age of 45, less than 1 in 10 use TikTok”. /Source: The Swedes and the Internet

Ads management from the start

The platform will also open up for advertising in the Nordic region in connection with the launch. However, not all formats will be included from the start. What are your thoughts on that Fanny?

– As a Paid Media Manager, you of course want to see all the features in place that are found in, for example, the USA, but it’s certainly only a matter of time before it is rolled out here in the Nordics as well. Initially, the Ads formats TopView and In feed will be bookable. Smartson will look at Organic Beats and Paid Peaks in our strategy with our clients, to use TikTok lingo.

“Personally, I love the fast flow you meet in the app - you quickly get hooked and you always want to see more. Now it remains to see how attractive it will be for paying advertisers”.

What do you think makes TikTok one of the most downloaded social media channels of the moment?

– Personally, I love the fast flow you see in the app - you quickly get hooked and you always want to see more. That social media connects the world and its different subcultures is nothing new, but this platform has something special. I think it’s the authenticity that makes it successful as well, especially during a time when travel is restricted.
